Drafts, never decisions

Paste an outline, get a course structure. Ask for a lesson, get Markdown you can edit. Nothing reaches a course until a human presses apply.

One of the four we would rather you knew about before a demo than after one. What exists is below; so is what does not.

A person using a chat-style AI tool on a laptop in a cafe.

What it does

Course outline drafting

A structure you can accept, edit or throw away.

Lesson content drafting

Markdown, into the editor, not into the course.

Dropout-risk scoring

With the signals that produced it, and an intervention you can record.

Adaptive paths and interview practice

The learner’s own, private by construction.

How it actually works

The provider is a port, and its default is off

OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic or disabled, chosen by an environment variable. When disabled the feature is hidden rather than broken — a greyed-out button that cannot work is a support ticket. Token budgets are per tenant and generations cached, so no institute meets a bill it did not authorise.

The permission keys it adds

A sample. Each is a real key in the catalogue, described for a school administrator rather than an engineer.

Who holds it

  • Teacher
  • Academic Head
  • Content Author

The shipped role templates that hold it by default. Each is a copy you own and can edit — nothing in the code reads a role's name.

And what it does not

Naming these here is cheaper for both of us than discovering them in week six of a pilot.
