Assessment & Outcomes

Verifiable by a stranger

Issued from a template, revocable, and checkable by anyone holding the code at a public URL with no account at all.

cert · 9 API routes55% against our own specification — in progress, see build status

One of the four we would rather you knew about before a demo than after one. What exists is below; so is what does not.

A staff member handing a certificate to a student at a small ceremony.

What it does

Templates

Your wording, your marks, your signatures block.

Issuance and revocation

Both audited; a revoked certificate says so rather than vanishing.

Public verification

One URL, no login, and a different answer for “not found” and “withdrawn”.

How it actually works

Not found and withdrawn are different words on purpose

An employer checking a code needs to know which one they have. A single “invalid” would let a revoked credential read as a typo, and a forged one read as withdrawn. The page renders exactly what the API returns, and nothing else.

The permission keys it adds

A sample. Each is a real key in the catalogue, described for a school administrator rather than an engineer.

  • cert.template.manage
  • cert.certificate.issue
  • cert.certificate.own

All 272 keys, filterable

Who holds it

  • Institute Admin
  • Student

The shipped role templates that hold it by default. Each is a copy you own and can edit — nothing in the code reads a role's name.

And what it does not

Naming these here is cheaper for both of us than discovering them in week six of a pilot.

What this does not do yet

A hundred seats, twenty-five courses and no conversation. If you would rather see it driven by someone who knows it, that takes twenty minutes.
